Dr. Ritesh Gupta 

Ophthalmologist

MD, FRCSC

Dr. Ritesh Gupta obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at McMaster University.  Following this, he completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at University of Toronto. He completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at University of Western Ontario. He then completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Loma Linda University in California, USA.

Accomplishments and awards

  • Dr. Gupta received multiple awards for his research work as well as international missions with a focus on global ophthalmology.
  • Dr. Gupta has published numerous research articles and presented at various national and international ophthalmology conferences.
  • Dr. Gupta is involved in the creation of surgical and teaching videos, several of which have been featured in various Ophthalmology conferences.
  • Dr. Gupta is an avid tennis player, having won various tournaments and represented McMaster University in varsity competitions.

Dr. Alok Gupta 

Sports Medicine Physician

MBBS, MSc, CCFP(SEM), DIP. Sport Medicine

Dr. Gupta is a practicing full-time primary care sport and exercise medicine physician in Hamilton and Oakville, Ontario. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, McMaster University.

Accomplishments and Awards

After completing his medical training and residency in Orthopedic Surgery in India, he worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor and orthopedic surgeon in both India and Botswana for several years. In Canada, after completing  residency in Family Medicine from McMaster University, Dr. Gupta did fellowship and received Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine in 2013.

As part of his sports medicine training, he has worked with professional athletes and teams, including the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. His work experience includes providing team medical coverage at national and international events such as the 2013 Toronto Women’s Half Marathon, the 2013 World Under-23 Championship in ultimate Frisbee and the Pan American Games of 2015.

He takes enormous satisfaction in working with athletes and active people of all ages, both to prevent and treat musculoskeletal injuries and to help promote an active lifestyle. In addition to providing care and guidance for sports and exercises related problems, Dr. Gupta treats elderly population with osteoarthritis and also performs various injections including cortisone, viscus supplementation and platelet-rich plasma.
